Summer Intervention Camp

Introduction

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurobiological disorder starting in childhood; as such, and contrary to common belief, it is not the result of poor parenting. ADHD causes a number of behaviors that make it difficult for a child to follow instructions or to control their impulsive behavior. Children affected by ADHD find it difficult to perform well in a typical classroom environment and this often results in academic underachievement because they are unable to sustain their attention. This is one of the reasons for creating this project.

Project Overview

This project is held annually during the summer holidays. It aims to enable children with ADHD to attain the necessary skills and abilities to succeed, and to help them to develop physically, mentally, socially, and psychologically. The camp develops these areas by way of a variety of compelling activities including sports, art and creativity, and academic skills. Note: this project is designed primarily for Arabic-speaking children.
