Saudi Non-Profit Resources

As a service to other non-profits in Saudi Arabia, here is a list of services and resources that we have found useful. This list will start out small, but I’ll be updating it from time to time.

Organization that Support Non-Profits:

The King Khalid Foundation is a charitable organization established in Saudi Arabia in 2001 by the family of the late King Khalid. Their Nonprofit Organization (NPO) Support Center is dedicated to providing grants for building and transferring knowledge related to nonprofit management and governance. They provide free resources such as their Non-Profit Strategic Planning Manual, as well as conducting specialized training.
Al-Subeaei Charity Foundation has numerous resources in Arabic and English about strategy, planning, and problem solving.

International companies that offer non-profit pricing:

Microsoft Corporate Citizenship program offers both free software licenses and discounted packages to qualifying non-profits. While their website focuses on US charities, their international offices are also highly cooperative and amenable to supporting charitable causes through their CSR departments. For small non-profits, especially, these offers represent significant savings in IT operating costs, not to mention increased productivity with the professional suite of Microsoft software.
Buffer is a useful tool for running and measuring your social media campaigns. Its web site and supporting mobile app allows you to manage your social media accounts from one dashboard and has built-in analytics. In December 2014, they announced a new non-profit pricing plan – with 50% off all their packages – and will offer these discounts to registered charities, including international ones, such as those registered with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development in Saudi Arabia. Their blog is also a valuable resource for information about social media marketing.
Dropbox needs no introduction as the leading cloud storage solution that makes it easy to share files with your team and your members in different locations, as well as having an easy-to-use mobile app that gives you access to all your files on-the-go.  With the cost of online services being so much lower than dedicated hardware, with their 256-bit AES & SSL encryption, and unlimited version history, Dropbox for Business also serves as a great low-cost alternative to expensive file servers and offsite backup solutions. At the time of writing, we’ve been enjoying a 30% discount on their business plan for nearly two years.
